Issue paper 3: Are the universal values defended by Global Citizenship Education universal?

Global Citizenship Education promotes certain values in education systems around the world, such as justice, sustainability, inclusivity, pacifism and more. But are these values interpreted in the same way everywhere? And are these values truly universally desirable? Or do they mainly reflect a Western perspective? This issue paper provides starting points for reflection in the debate.
