Issue paper 5: “We know the extent of the problems. So, now, what do we do?”

Publication1 June 2022

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) aims to shape young people into change makers for a more just and sustainable world. However, this ambition is not straightforward because it involves the intersection between education and concrete engagement.

Nevertheless, GCE has the responsibility to propose action opportunities and encourage engagement. Otherwise, it will shape the next generation of young people into anxious individuals who are aware of global problems but remain powerless to do anything about them.
